We’re a small, locally owned business made up of a tight-knit team of dedicated professionals, bringing together over 80 years of combined experience in welding and fabrication. That experience shows in everything we do — from the precision of our work to the reliability of our service.

Ben Gillespie
Ben is a skilled plater and a co-founder of our company, boasting over 15 years of industry experience. His career began in the USA, where he built a strong foundation, before returning to Sunderland to establish a thriving business. Known for his dedication and technical expertise, Ben drives our commitment to quality and innovation, and his passion for fabrication continues to inspire our team every day.

Scott Common
Meet Scott, a skilled fabricator and welder with over a decade of experience. After honing his craft in Australia, he returned to the North East to launch a successful business with his partner, Ben. From small repairs to large-scale installations, Scott delivers precise, high-quality workmanship backed by a strong reputation for reliability and craftsmanship.
Welder
John Common
John is a highly skilled welder with over 50 years of industry experience. He has worked around the globe and, most recently, in the USA alongside Ben. Known for his extensive expertise, John consistently delivers high-quality welding services to his community—evidenced by his work on the Northern Spire Bridge. Whether it’s a minor repair or a large-scale project, you can trust John to get the job done right.
Working in the community
We’re proud to support our local community and give something back where we can. As part of that, we sponsor the Sunderland RCA Whites Under-11s, helping provide young players with the kit and support they need to enjoy the game and develop their skills. Backing grassroots football is something we really believe in—it’s all about teamwork, commitment, and giving local kids the best possible start.
